Hey Jay,
What is wrong with the laptop? I have experience trouble-shooting Dell's. You are correct (the sucks part) and it is not just Dell, Gateway may have the worst support in the industry. That is what my past correspondence with them has led me to conclude. Apple and Sony are just a little better. It may be that customer service/help in general sucks now that half of the world has become walking I-Pod/Blackberry zoombies.

Zoombies are people who drive too fast and are barely conscious or sentient while they are using their I-Pods, Blackberrys and other wireless devices.
